Every Thing The Light Touches
Few artists craft music that feels as deeply immersive and soul-nourishing as Danny Forde and his art-folk ensemble, Every Thing The Light Touches. Praised by luminaries like Glen Hansard, Wallis Bird, Anaïs Mitchell, and Riverdance composer Bill Whelan, their first release, Animal, immediately caught attention, landing on Apple Music’s flagship playlist Today’s Top Hits and drawing critical acclaim — Plastic Mag described it as “soul-stirring and enchanting” and hailed the project’s ability to create “an incredible sonic fabric threaded with authenticity and emotion.”
The journey to completing the stunning debut mini-album, What Else Is There?, began with a moment of spiritual clarity under the Bahamian sun, where Forde found inspiration for a globe-spanning creative pilgrimage. Recording sessions unfolded across bedrooms, high-end studios, and remote collaborations across the US and Europe, culminating in a record that meditates on love in all its forms—romantic, familial, universal, and Divine. The album was mixed and mastered by Mike Cave (Lewis Capaldi, James Vincent McMorrow), unifying the recording sessions with warmth and precision.
The music of Every Thing The Light Touches inhabits the space between the tender, introspective
stylings of Nick Drake and Damien Rice, the lush harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash, and the
expansive sonic landscapes of Bon Iver and Elbow. Expect a rich tapestry of fingerpicked guitar,
layered vocal harmonies, piano, string quartet, and even singing bowls—all carefully interwoven
with percussive textures that elevate the music beyond the expected. Forde’s greatest inspiration
comes from the power of music to bring people together, to heal and uplift spirits in a way that
transcends social structures.
Beyond his work with Every Thing The Light Touches, Danny Forde has built a formidable
reputation as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, music director, and arranger, with his music being
heard in theatres and concert halls around the world and credits spanning film and television.
