Facilitated by: Jenn Fenn, RECE and Kimiko Boons-Owens, RECE

This opportunity invites early years’ professionals working in Early ON/ON y va and Family Centre teams to come together and collaboratively reflect on the unique joys and the challenges that come with community partnerships, playgroups, family and caregiver dynamics. 

We will incorporate time for Early ON/ON y va leaders and professionals to have separate conversations.

Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ideas and resources, offer one another support, listen, and ask thoughtful questions. Topics may include curriculum and programming ideas, communication, the environment, relationships, and so much more. 

Conversations emerging from this group will be ongoing.

The success of a Community of Practice relies on shared reflection and the open exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge between members. Please come prepared to engage in meaningful conversation.

Jenn Fenn (she/her) (left) has been working as an RECE for 21 years for the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. She has worked in every age group but absolutely loves infants the most! Jenn currently works for the Family Centre Carling Thames as an EarlyOn facilitator. She has a passion for building relationships with families and children in her programs. Jenn is a passionate advocate for EarlyON and Family Centre teams and the unique roles involved. She is eager to bring the EarlyON teams together for a chance at open conversations and a safe space. In her spare time Jenn likes to travel, read and walk.
Kimiko Boons-Owens (she/her) (right) is a registered Early Childhood Educator.  She graduated in 2010 from Fanshawe College, and is the EarlyON Coordinator for Family Centre Westminster. Kimiko was inspired to begin her journey as an Early Childhood Educator through her high school placement with Ontario Early Years -Fanshawe right here in London Ontario. Kimiko enjoys the community aspect and building relationships with the whole family.

While we welcome participation from outside of the Early Years sector, please note these learning opportunities are intended for early years professionals and the early years lens will be emphasized.
