Allens Lane Art Center presents Hand In Hand, a solo exhibition by Philadelphia-based artist Jacob Stevens, on view April 11 – May 10. Stevens’ works encourage close looking, an artistic practice defined by spending an extended period of time with one artwork to glean information that is obscured at first glance. With an emphasis on the use of materials and the application of medium, Stevens thoughtfully explores surfaces and subverts expectations when it comes to traditional painting.
