ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
 
CoSM welcomes you to an afternoon of Live Figure Drawing. Sessions will feature an open studio environment, providing a live nude model posing for various time-lengths throughout the three hour drawing session. 

Hone your creative skills in an inspiring setting with fellow artists. 

This figure drawing session happens monthly at CoSM.
 

 
Class sessions, open to all levels of experience, will take place in the beautiful MAGI Art Lab (Mystic Artists Guild International). Come draw with us at CoSM!

All participants must be 18+ or accompanied by a legal guardian.
  

  
WHAT TO EXPECT:
 

Live Figure Drawing Techniques: Sharpen your hand-eye coordination through rendering the three-dimensional human form in real-time.
Anatomy & Proportions: Develop better understanding of human anatomy and proportions, essential for creating realistic and expressive figures.
Collaborative Learning: Engage with fellow artists in a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Open Studio Live Figure Drawing sessions are facilitated by skilled CoSM staff members.
Alex Grey and Allyson Grey may attend as special guest facilitators on occasion as their schedule permits. 
   

 
SCHEDULE:
 

12pm – CoSM opens to the public
1pm – 4pm – Figure Drawing in the Art Lab
6pm – CoSM closes

Tuition also includes Day Admission to CoSM on the day of the event.

Access to Facilities, grounds and self-touring Entheon
Students are welcome to experience Entheon and Grey House Galleries, including both CoSM Shop & Entheon Shop. 
The Mushroom Cafe is an additional gallery, an immersively muraled space with mushroom themed contributions from 19 accomplished visionary artists
The Wisdom Trail offers a contemplative walk through the CoSM woods, including a labyrinth, outdoor sculptural installations by visionary artists

AVAILABLE IN THE ART LAB:

Basic drawing materials, colored pens & pencils
Pencil sharpeners
Erasers
8.5”x11” printer paper
Drawing boards
Chairs & backjacks with floor pillows
Limited easels and side tables

SUGGESTED TO BRING:
Bring the materials you prefer. Here are a few options: 

Pencils & pens for drawing; graphite pencils — 2B, 3B, 4B, HB
Pencil sharpener
Kneadable eraser and other preferred types
Drawing paper pad or sketch book (Suggested Size: 11″ x 14″; 2 or 4 ply Strathmore drawing paper pad)
Good quality colored pencils — 20 or more colors
Watercolor set
Palette or white/clear plastic lids
Good quality brushes of various sizes — 0, 1, 2, 4, 6… point? flat? angled? Listen to what calls you.
Watercolor paper block — Pink Arche watercolor block is smooth and suggested.

If you like textured surface, choose blue or green. Size: 9″ x 12″ or 10″ x 14″ 
The highest quality materials offer the best results.

The Grey House, CoSM’s Visionary Victorian guest house, offers 10 bedrooms in a variety of economies.

Private rooms with private or shared bathrooms, Queen or King beds.
Shared dorm style rooms with single beds *femme only & coed options
Grey House features works of art by the Grey’s & accomplished Visionary artists.
Also in Grey House is The Mushroom Cafe, CoSM Shop, the Library, the Dining Hall, the Gallery & the Parlor.
