After a distinguished career as a sommelier, including formative years alongside Raj Parr at RN74, David Castleberry transitioned from the dining room to the vineyard, bringing his deep understanding of wine to the source. Today, he is the founder of Comptoir Wine Co. and co-creator of Love & Terroir, a collaborative project with acclaimed winemaker Chad Melville of the renowned Melville Winery in the Sta. Rita Hills.

Rooted in the diverse microclimates of the Santa Ynez Valley, Castleberry’s wines reflect a focused pursuit of balance and site expression, with standout bottlings of Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc from carefully selected vineyard sites.
