U15 Academy Trials (School Games Squad) – England Netball Pathway

U15 Academy
The Nottingham Forest U15 Academy will represent Nottingham Forest in the School Games in September (Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th) against the other franchise sides. 

U15 Academy Timeline
This season EN have informed franchises that trials will take place in April, once the county season has finished and not in January as previously held. 
We will select a long squad of around 20 athletes to train May until July/August when we will select the Competition Squad of 12 plus 3 Training Partners.

U15 Academy Trials
We will be selecting players from 2 opportunities, our U15 trials and our county tournament. 
Trials – County and Franchise PDP players
Thursday 23rd April
David Ross Sports Village
5-8pm
County Tournament (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Staffordshire)
Saturday 25th April
Details – TBC

Selection Timeline
After trials, we will send offers to successful athletes by 11am on Monday 26th April 2026. Players have until 5pm on Friday 1st May 2026 to accept/decline their place. We will not withdraw our offer until after this time. 

Eligibility for Nottingham Forest U15 Academy Trials (EN Pathway)
EN have set our clear eligibility criteria for us to select our U15 Academy squad. 

Player during the 2025/26 academic year in School Year 10, 9 or 8 (by age). 
‘Exceptional’ U15 players from Nottingham Forest PDP/NPL squads.
Currently registered to a County U15 PDP from one of our 4 assigned counties, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire. 
Player who is registered to another County U15 PDP, but who lives within the geographical boundaries of one of our assigned counties. (approval from EN needed)
Player who is registered to another County U15 PDP, but who goes to school within the geographical boundaries of one of our assigned counties. (approval from EN needed)
Player who is registered to another County U15 PDP who is able to show that the regular training venue of the U15s Academy is closer by travel time to their home or school address than that of their assigned Pathway Club. (please see locations below). (approval from EN needed)
Players in our FPCs are NOT eligible unless they are also in a county setting. 

* Please ensure you check with your county that you are registered to the EN County PDP and not a ‘development’ squad that is not EN affiliated.

Training
The U15 long squad will start training in May. 
May – once a week (Thursday)
June – twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
July – twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
August – twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
We will have a 3-week break between 17th July and 10th August (tbc), we ask that selected players take their holiday during this time and not during training weeks. We also expect players to not participate in any club netball during this time, the players need some rest as it is a long season!

Matches
We will arrange friendly matches against other franchises; dates will be confirmed once selected. 

Cost of Programme
We are finalising the cost of the programme. This will be shared with athletes on their offer letters before the accept.
