Get ready for a unique collaborative art experience as artists conjure narratives through experiencing a Shibari Rope Performance live

What Is Shibari Narratives and Life Drawing?

Shibari Narratives & Life Drawing is meant ot be hybrid between a Shibari (Japanese Rope Bondage) performance/ scene and a collaborative art experience.

The goal of this event is to create connections between the artist nature of Shibari and capturing scenes through artistic interpritation. During the event the Rope Artist and model will go through several scenes in which the artists will have time to draw and capture their collaboration in real time.

The other collaboration comes at the end of the event where artists get to look at eachothers work and talk about technique, ask questions of our performers and eachother, and talk about the narratives that where explored in this multi-faceted expereince of the senses!

Model – EM

“I am a SCAD graduate with a BFA in Fashion Marketing, with 6 year experience working in front and behind the camera. I’m inspired in storytelling through digital media and creative direction. I am passionate about creating bold and innovative graphics/styling that is heavily influenced by the 2000’s grunge aesthetic. My work is both editorial and experimental while emphasizing female empowerment in nontraditional beauty. I am looking forward to exploring more of myself not just as a creative but being more involved in the local scene.”

Where?

Hosted by Bogus Gallery in the Old CopyCat Building we have a very exciting new type of Life Drawing to unveil! The address is 1511 Guilford Avenue in an old art space / warehouse. The building has a long history of art events and rich night life but is now converted into artist studios where the event will take place.

What if I dont want to draw?

Thats fine! we still ask you purchase a ticket to watch the experience and be respectful of the other attendees, these events are often pretty quiet affairs to make creating art a relaxing experience
