Built in 1905, Singer Castle was originally constructed as a hunting retreat for the wealthy Singer Sewing Machine Company heir, Frederick Bourne. Known for its grand architecture and impressive turrets, Singer Castle sits on Dark Island and offers a glimpse into the opulence of the early 20th century.
Ideal for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, the cruise offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and rich history, accompanied by a lite and informative commentary sharing intriguing facts and lore about the Islands’ history, its legends and its people. Covering a distance of 38 kilometers (24 miles) the Singer Castle Cruise is the only regularly scheduled cruise from the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence River to offer a view of Singer Castle.
Singer Castle is located on the U.S. side of the river and does not offer Customs clearance services so, the boat will NOT stop at Dark Island for you to tour the Castle. No Passport or Visitor Visas required.
