The experience begins in Tuxtla Gutiérrez at 10:00 a.m. from a central meeting point. We’ll start with a visit to the scenic viewpoints overlooking the Sumidero Canyon (except on Tuesdays, when the viewpoints are closed for park ranger rest). From these heights, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the towering canyon walls that rise over 1,000 meters.

Next, we’ll head to the Chicoasén dam jetty, where you’ll board a boat for a 1 hour and 45-minute ride through the heart of the Sumidero Canyon. Along the way, you’ll witness impressive natural rock formations, colorful caves, and an abundance of wildlife including crocodiles, monkeys, and a variety of birds.

The journey continues with a stop in the charming colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo. You’ll have free time to explore its central square, visit historical landmarks, and browse traditional handicrafts. We’ll then head to San Cristóbal de las Casas, where this full-day adventure concludes in one of Mexico’s most magical towns.
