Kiruna: Build your own igloo overnight Tour – Kalixforsbron, Sweden
Kiruna Igloo Experience: Embark on an intense and personal encounter in the Arctic elements where hours of hard work shovelling snow will reward you with your own igloo to sleep in.
PRICE: $327
per person
Our comprehensive package includes transfers at 2:15PM from Kiruna and at 10AM the next morning to Kiruna town, along with essential winter gear, including winter overalls, socks, boots, mittens, hats, and a headtorch. For your overnight stay in the Arctic wilderness, we provide outdoor equipment, including a sleeping bag, inner liner, and mattress.
We recommend coming prepared with a balaclava or scarf and dressing in layers of warm clothing.
Please note that if you’re uncomfortable in small spaces or suffer from claustrophobia, this tour may not be ideal for you, as you cannot stand upright inside the igloo. The guide will not sleep in the igloo with you.
On our Kiruna Igloo Tour, we’ll teach you how to construct your very own igloo. The process involves hard work, from moving snow to carving out the shelter. You’ll be rewarded with a shelter you’ve built yourself.
In the remote wilderness of Kalixfors, if the skies are clear and the solar winds are favourable, there’s a good chance you may catch a glimpse of the enchanting Northern Lights. After dinner and capturing enough pictures of this natural spectacle, you can snuggle into an arctic sleeping bag for a surprisingly cozy winter night.
In the morning, we’ll gather for breakfast in our Tipi around an open fire, and afterwards, you can spend time with our 40 friendly dogs before we transport you back to civilization.
For those seeking an extended Arctic adventure, the Igloo tour can be seamlessly combined with our Kiruna Husky day tour, which starts the next morning from 09:00 to 14:00.
