Ride through a snowy forest on an Icelandic horse on this tour outside Kiruna. Spot local wildlife, try the tölt gait, and enjoy a warm lunch made from local ingredients.

PRICE: $288
per person

Time: 9:20 – 14:50 (Kiruna) 9:00 – 15:10 (ICEHOTEL)

We begin with a pickup from Kiruna or ICEHOTEL and drive around 30-40 minutes west, away from the busy town. Once at the farm, we make sure you are wearing enough clothes and get ready for the ride. Help to prepare your horse for the ride, and get to know each other before mounting and heading out into the frozen woods.

Ride through a many hundred years old forest nestled against the mountain range, enjoying the silence and calmness. Here, we have a chance of spotting moose, reindeer, arctic hare, snowy grouse, and other local wildlife. Your guide will teach you what to look for, and how to recognize different animal tracks. There is also a possibility to try the special gait unique for Icelandic horses, called tölt.

After the ride, take care of the horses and then gather in the kitchen for a warming lunch. Here, have the chance to learn more about animals, nature, Sámi culture, and life above the Arctic Circle, and maybe see the moose from the kitchen, as they steal hay from the horses paddock. When you are full and warmed up, we drive you back to Kiruna.

PLEASE NOTE: The price listed here only applies to transfers to and from Kiruna C. For Icehotel, an additional cost of 300 SEK per person is added.
