Join us and leave busy Málaga behind as you head into the Mediterranean hills of Mijas in a comfortable new minivan. In under 30 minutes, you’ll swap the city buzz for vineyards, fresh air and the calm rhythm of a small, family-run wine project.
Your first stop is a hillside vineyard at around 400 metres above sea level, wrapped around the winemaker’s own family home. Three small plots (about 900 vines) spill toward the sea, and on clear days you can see all the way to Africa. Chickens wander the land, a goat keeps watch, and a friendly dog and a few cats remind you this is a living home, not a staged attraction.
With your first glass in hand, your guide turns the landscape into a clear, enjoyable masterclass: grapes, microclimate, soils, farming choices and how this humble home project became a quiet reference for top local restaurants. You are not just tasting, you are understanding why the quality is so high.
Next, you’ll visit a tiny “garage” winery hidden in an industrial corner of Mijas. Outside it looks like a normal warehouse. Inside, it feels like a secret cellar: tanks, barrels and bottles from a producer who cares more about flavour, purity and patience than labels or marketing. These wines are not sold in supermarkets or online. Almost every bottle is allocated to standout restaurants on the Costa del Sol through a single luxury distributor, so tasting here feels genuinely exclusive.
Here you’ll taste at least 6 local wines, typically whites, rosés and reds, plus (depending on the day) small-batch surprises like vermouth, orange or sparkling wines. Everything is low-intervention and naturally made, crafted without added sulphites, fermented with native yeasts and given time to become precise and expressive.
To sharpen the experience, each guest receives an individual chef-style tapas pairing board: refined, bite-sized tapas created to elevate each wine. You’ll be guided through the pairings to amplify contrast and highlight aroma, texture and finish. Seasonal examples may include spiced tabbouleh, creamy ensaladilla rusa, rice with Iberian secreto and wild mushrooms, salmon pâté with red pepper jam on crisp toast, and smoked sardine finished with a touch of coriander. To share at the table: Spanish tortilla, artisan Málaga cheeses, premium Iberian cured meats, crisps, and crunchy bread rolls.
Bottled water is included throughout the entire tour, from pickup to drop-off.
This is a premium, small-group experience (often around 8 guests) with an English-speaking host who translates, guides and makes everything feel effortless. The price reflects what you get: rare wines with restricted distribution, intimate access to the people behind them, gourmet pairings built for the wines, generous hospitality, and seamless transport. No crowds, no shortcuts, just craftsmanship from vine to glass. By the time you return to Málaga, you won’t just have tasted outstanding wines, you’ll have stepped inside a real story.
