Almost three hours from Morelia and very close to the municipality of Angangueo is Luz de Noche, a firefly viewing site where every year during the rainy season, fireflies, those tiny flying insects known for their unique ability to produce bioluminescent light thanks to luciferin, perform this ritual in order to attract mates and mate. This natural light show creates a magical effect, transforming the forests into an almost fantasy-like setting.
