Begin your tour with a stroll down historic Baker Street, where you’ll feel the funky vibe, authenticity, and entrepreneurial spirit of Nelson. Enjoy blocks of great shopping with a wide variety of eclectic specialty shops and boutiques. You’ll also find galleries, coffee shops, antiques, museum browsing, alluring back alleys, over a dozen pubs, live music venues, dance clubs, and more.

Before prospectors arrived in search of gold and silver, the area where Nelson now sits was home for thousands of years to the Ktunaxa and Sinixt First Nations, who fished once-abundant salmon.

Come tour the many heritage buildings in downtown Nelson and listen to shocking, inspiring, and strange tales of crime, triumph, colorful communities, fame and debauchery; including ghosts, brothels, booze smuggling, BC bud, and more.

The walk is around 14 blocks and is mostly flat. We will have umbrellas for sun or rain comfort.
