Newport’s role during the American Revolution was anything but passive. From the Stamp Act riot in 1765, to the British occupation, the Battle of Rhode Island and later the roots of the Franco-American alliance, this small city has many stories to tell about how America was established.
This 75-minute guided tour starts at the Museum of Newport History, conveniently nestled at the foot of Washington Square and visits the city’s Old Quarter.
