We’ll get to travel in time to an ancient mining town in the middle of The Great Chihuahuan desert. Cobblestone streets and centuries old mine shafts, homes and landmarks await for us on this trip

PRICE: $217
per person

Real de Catorce takes us back in time as we go across the Ogarrio tunnel, the only way into the town; After a 3.5 hour drive on the free way from San Luis Potosí, we’ll cross this hand – carved portal, to enter the ancient town with cobble stone streets that lies hidden away into Catorce’s mountain range, in the great Chihuahua desert.

Our first stop, Real’s typical “gorditas”; Afterwards, we’ll tour through some of the landmarks of the town, such as the town’s mint and “La purisima’s temple”Después, to later go aboard a Willy (4X4 vehicle) which will take us farther in time to the ancient and most famous mine: Socavón de la purísima; The willy goes throug an ancient stone trail that dares defy the mountain itself; On the way back to town, we’ll have some time to taste the local cuisine, very much at the desert style in Real de Catorce; To wrap things up, we’ll have some free time to wander the streets and maybe buy some craftsmanship or souvenir, before beggining our pilgrimage back to modern times and civilization.
