Moped riding in Forez: the thrill of 45 km/h

Treat yourself to a unique moment of freedom and nostalgia!

Fancy some fresh air, winding country roads, cows watching you pass by with philosophical gazes, and the scent of freedom (mixed with a slight smell of two-stroke gasoline)? Welcome to Forez… on a moped!

Imagine: helmet on your head, wind in your beard (or hair, if you still have any), leaving civilization behind at full speed—well, moderate speed—to dive into the heart of a region that is too little known and yet rich in treasures.

Mysterious forests, hilltop villages, bucolic valleys, castles that once housed knights (and now sheep), small chapels and great cheeses: Forez welcomes you with open arms.

And all this on a moped, the legendary vehicle that has seen generations of crazy young people, intrepid postmen and hurried grandmothers.

It’s simple: every bend becomes an adventure, every climb a challenge (sometimes for your calves if you have to pedal a little…), and every break a perfect opportunity to take out the sausage and contemplate the landscapes in slow travel mode.

Forez is the France of yesterday, with the calm of today and a well-balanced touch of vintage. And on a moped? It’s like a time machine… but with a horn that goes “beep.”

You’ll set off for a two-hour ride from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., departing from Montrond les Bains (42).
You must be over 23 to rent from Forez’cursion Retro.

The price includes a helmet, gloves, insurance, gas, and a lock. A deposit (bank card imprint) of €1,000 will be required for each moped.
