Tortuguero: Canoe Adventure Tour – Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica
Enjoy the beauty of Tortuguero with a local ICT certified guide. Experience the wildlife up close, learn more about the history of the National Park, and immerse yourself in nature as you paddle!
PRICE: $35
per person
The tour begins in the office with a morning reception of coffee/tea, biscuits, and fruit. Once your group is ready you will be given a dry-bag with binoculars for your use on the tour. Your tour guide will take you to the dock, provide life jackets and help you get settled into the canoe.
As you paddle through the still waters of the canals, your guide will teach you about the history of Tortuguero and its wildlife–be on the lookout for movement in the water from caiman! Early mornings are the best time of day to see animal activity before they start to hide from the mid-morning sun.
Each tour is a unique experience–you never know what animals might want to come say “hello”! Animals you could see on the tour include: caiman, crocodiles, lizards, monkeys, freshwater turtles, herons, egrets, and several more species of birds.
Making your way through the meandering canals you will also learn about the rich biodiversity of Tortuguero. You will be transported to another world paddling beneath the tree canopy, surrounded by the rainforest on all sides.
