Come and discover our range of white wines made from mass-selected Viognier, the flagship grape variety of the Rhône Valley and a white grape variety with fabulous aromas.
Our first Viognier vines were planted in 1981 by our independent winemaker and pioneer Marc Français, who saw the potential of this grape variety in the southern Côtes du Rhône.
Georges Vernay, a renowned winemaker in the northern CDR region and the man behind the appellation’s revival, generously delivered a bundle of pruned wood in his Citroën Visa Break, and so the adventure began.
During your visit, you will discover the rest of the story with Florestan, oenologist, grandson of Marc Français and representative of the eighth generation of winemakers at Château Saint Estève. You will learn about the different facets of the Viognier grape variety through tasting and discover the principles behind its production.
You will taste four different varieties: 100% Viognier, the “Tradition” blend, then wines from 40-year-old vines, and finally the ancestral vinification.
During this exclusive tour, you will also discover the estate’s cellar and historic vaulted cellar with technical explanations tailored to your wishes.
